.artSümer, founded in 2005 by Aslı Sümer, focuses on showcasing cutting-edge contemporary art by local and international emerging artists. artSümer represents artists at early stages of their career development, whose diverse practices include painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, video and new media.

Represented artists are : Gözde İlkin, Onur Gülfidan, Basim Magdy, Merve Çanakçı, Burcu Gökçek, Merve Üstünalp, Gökçe Er, Erdal Duman, Damla Faro and Serra Behar.

The gallery program consists of rotating solo exhibitions, participation in international art fairs and curated group shows of artists without gallery representation.

artSümer relocated in 2011 in Karakoy which is the upcoming neighborhood of Istanbul.

After studying business administration at the University of Istanbul, Aslı Sümer worked in the corporate world for ten years. In 2003, she changed careers and moved to New York to study arts administration and arts appreciation at New York University. She founded artSümer in 2005 after working with her family, which has owned one of the most recognized and well-established galleries in Istanbul since the 1980s.
