Stéphane Jacob is the Director of the Arts d'Australie • Stéphane Jacob Gallery and a member of Chambre Nationale des Experts Spécialisés en Objets d'Art et de Collection (C.N.E.S.) (National Chamber of Experts Specialized in Art and Collection Objects) and Comité Professionnel des Galeries d'Art (Professional Committee of Art Galleries). He is a graduate of the École du Louvre.

Specialized in Australian art, and more particularly in Aboriginal art, Stéphane Jacob is recognized by museums and collectors as one of the European experts in his field today.

Almost one hundred artworks from the Arts d'Australie • Stéphane Jacob Gallery are a part of public collections belonging to French museums such as the Musée du Quai Branly (Paris), the Musée des Confluences (Lyon), the Musée des Abattoirs (Toulouse), the Musée d'Art & d'Histoire (Rochefort), etc.

Stéphane Jacob has been promoting Australian art for more than 17 years, by taking part in numerous events (Dreamtime - Temps du Rêve, Musée d'Art Contemporain Les Abattoirs 2009, Contemporary Art Fairs, Les Champs de la Sculpture 2000, etc.) and organizing several exhibitions in France and in Europe. In 2011, he curated a monographic show dedicated to Dennis Nona (DENNIS NONA: Between Sky, Land and Sea, Legends Revisited, Torres Strait Islands, Australia) at the Australian Embassy.

One of the particularities of Stéphane Jacob's approach is the fact that he has developed an innovative concept of a gallery in an appartment, where he receives regularly groups of amateurs or connaisseurs with whom he shares his experience in a friendly atmosphere. This concept that he has been developing with passion, but also scientific rigour in which the authenticity of the artworks shows a very responsible approach, is often acclaimed by the media.
