Art + Practice encourages education and culture by providing support services to foster youth predominantly living in South Los Angeles as well as offering access to free, museum-quality art exhibitions and moderated art lectures to the community of Leimert Park.

Founded by artist Mark Bradford, philanthropist and collector Eileen Harris Norton, and community activist Allan DiCastro, Art + Practice (A+P) is an arts and education private operating foundation based in Leimert Park Village, Los Angeles. A+P occupies a nearly 20,000 square-foot campus, where it directs its programs and activities.

ART | Art at A+P includes exhibitions and public programs. Organized in collaboration with local, national and international museums, exhibitions at A+P showcase world-class contemporary art in all media, highlighting artists from (or working in) Los Angeles. Public programs include moderated art lectures, discussions, and performances. Art programming at A+P seeks to reignite a conversation in Leimert Park about the social value and positive influence of contemporary art.

PRACTICE | Practice at A+P includes an educational program that provides support services to foster youth living in Service Planning Area (SPA) #6 – a specific geographic region in LA County which includes Athens, Compton, Crenshaw, Florence, Hyde Park, Lynwood, Paramount and Watts. Overseen by First Place for Youth (FPFY), foster youth receive access to housing, individualized education and employment support as well as job training.

Admission to all exhibitions and programs is free.  Metered street parking and public lots available.
