28 Apr 2025

by Jody Zellen

Don't miss Matías Sauter Morera's exhibition at Craig Krull Gallery, where he blends AI-generated imagery and Photoshop compositing to explore queer identity and the history of gay culture in Costa Rica.

Interested in queer identity and the history of gay culture in Costa Rica, Matías Sauter Morera embarked on a series of images — Pegamachos — that document interactions between rural cowboys and young gay men in the 1970s and 1980s. To create this body of work, Sauter Morera fused AI-generated imagery and Photoshop compositing. Catch the show before it closes on 3 May 2025.
