Berlin Spotlight on Sounds of Bethany – 50 Years Künstlerhaus Bethanien

Celebrating half a century as a beacon of experimentation and innovation, this Berlin institution marks the occasion with a dynamic showcase. Blending historical and contemporary sound art, the exhibition features historic sound sculptures by past exhibitors and resident artists, alongside newly developed installations crafted specifically for this milestone. This harmonious mix of old and new underscores Künstlerhaus Bethanien's role as a pioneering art space that continually inspires and pushes the boundaries of genre and form.

'Sounds of Bethany' includes historic sound works by Wojciech Bruszewski (PL), Terry Fox (US), Rolf Julius (DE), Joe Jones (US), Christina Kubisch (DE), Rolf Langebartels (DE), Benoît Maubrey (US), Paul Panhuysen (NL), Martin Riches (UK), and Qin Yufen (CN), alongside new sound installations by Frieder Butzmann & Thomas Kiesel (DE), Evelina Deicmane (LV), Raviv Ganchrow (NL), Via Lewandowsky (DE), Robert Lippok (DE), Claudia Märzendorfer (AT), Nika Schmitt (LU), Ivan Svitlychnyi (UA), and Maia Urstad (NO).

Additionally, historical images and sound contributions from the Künstlerhaus archive and artists including Ulrich Eller, Nils Krüger, Johan Lorbeer, and Gordon Monahan will be displayed.
