Explore the rich tapestry of UK's textile art in our spotlight this week, featuring both historical and contemporary work.

Spanning historical and contemporary work, Material Power: Palestinian Embroidery at Kettle's Yard is the first major exhibition of its kind in the UK for over 30 years. Threads at Arnolfini celebrates the storytelling power of textiles and reveals how memory is embedded in the making process. At the ICA, a retrospective of a pattern cutter, artist and working mother Moki Cherry foregrounds her beautiful costumes and fabric props. In September, Firstsite will exhibit work by Iranian rug maker Mehdi Jalalaghdamian, who is currently seeking asylum in the UK.
