About
British painter Rose Wylie will also be featured as an invited artist of the network.
Zündung, meaning ignition, is the spark that catches when different positions encourage, stimulate and engage with each other. It also shows how individual positions can be supported through discussion within a network.
The MNW was founded in 2015 and is a non-profit registered association of 28 female painters. The network is focused on personal exchange and serves as both a platform for dialogue and as support for female painters in the contemporary art world. The MNW has helped focus national and international public perception of the work of German women painters that frequently involves guest artists and curators from outside of the network.
Since 2015, the MNW has exhibited regularly in Berlin and Leipzig, and also at Schloss Achberg, Achberg (2017), Kunsthalle Lüneberg, Lüneberg (2018), Kunsthalle A1 and Gallery Leuenroth, Frankfurt (2018). In 2019 they will exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Leipzig.
