Anybody keeping an eye on the British jazz scene will have noticed Zara McFarlane. The London vocalist has collaborated with Denys Baptiste, Soweto Kinch, Jazz Jamaica All Stars, South Africa icon Hugh Masakela and acclaimed house producer Bopstar, to name a few. McFarlane has a Masters Degree in Jazz Studies from the Guidhall School of Music but is as drawn to popular culture as she is to high art. Expect subtle, stealthy swing steeped in the jazz tradition and thought-provoking lyrics.
