Yva Jung’s exhibition ‘Monday Morning’ commenced in late April with a performance at the Luton Mall, where shoppers and passers-by were offered sculptures - made with morning dew - in exchange for their stories with which Jung will create new works that will form part of her exhibition at Departure Lounge.
Fascinated by planetary rhythms, the cycles of life and death and the stories we generate in life. 'Monday Morning' is Jung’s first UK solo exhibition and brings together photographs, video and sculptures exploring the linguistic roots of ‘Monday’ meaning “day of the moon", as well as the moon’s phases and the parallel rhythms of female life.
The exhibition will conclude on Saturday 13 July,1.00 - 3.00 pm, with a closing party where Jung will present illustrated booklets recording her performance and the stories she has collected to members of the
public.
