Yuuka Takahashi paints unique works using traditional Japanese techniques, tools and filtered through her modern sensibility.
About
The prominent force of her detailed portrayals gives sharp impressions to her works, and through the combination of unrealistic motifs in her paintings the viewer canaccess her eccentric perspective of the world.
In her worksit is possible to see the influence of surrealism, but the core is to be found in the juxtaposition of the subjects, which is mainly influenced by the placid chaos of native Japanese manners and customs.
The exhibition in London in 2017 will be the first large solo exhibition out of Japan.
Her future success is greatly anticipated.
