About

‘You’re Home’, curated by Rushil Pandey and Hiten Bhundia, explores identity through a notion of what is meant by home. Home can be understood as the place of our cultural heritage, or as a place we have left and yearn to go back to, or the place of our ancestors. For the artists in this exhibition, the idea of home is full of complexities and contradictions. This term denotes not just the warm glow of comfort but also has within it the potential threat of exile. The association is carved from social and sensory nostalgia reconsidered by the political and colonial perspectives. Language is in discourse here with how we understand the global south and what it might mean to speak ‘home’.
