About
Griffin Gallery and CHARLIE SMITH LONDON are delighted to announce their continuedcollaboration with the presentation of ‘Young Gods’. Curated by Zavier Ellis, the exhibition is anannual selection of London art school graduates and post-graduates.
Presented simultaneously at both galleries, the 2016 edition will feature eight artists working in painting, photography, sculpture, assemblage, video, performance and installation.
Comprising artists from Chelsea, City & Guilds, Goldsmiths, Royal College and St Martins, the exhibition willcontinue to illustrate the breadth of world class education throughout London art schools. ‘Young Gods’ has a proven track record of discovering vital new artists and introducing them to the internationalmarket, with previous selections going on to considerable success with galleries, museums and collectors. As Ellisstates: “I’m excited to present once again my selection of London’s graduating artists at Griffin and CHARLIE SMITH LONDON. It’s always a fascinating process from visiting the schools; learning about the artists; and opening the shows eight months after the process has begun. I never cease to be intrigued, amused and enlightened by London’s art school output. Historically we have experienced considerable success with the Young Gods programme and it is rewarding to be able to offer some support alongside Becca Pelly-Fry and Griffin Gallery to artists at such an earlystage in their careers.”
The private view will take place at Griffin Gallery Wednesday 13 January 2016 6:30-8:30pm and there will be a performance by Chris Gray and J Price at CHARLIE SMITH LONDON Thursday 4 February 2016 6:30-8:30pm.
