About

The exhibitors - first-year students of the Moscow Institute of Contemporary Art - in their works explore the possibilities of transmitting socially significant meanings in the format of artistic expression. The methods and media used by artists are diverse. Video, performance, installation, found objects and art research - each of the exhibitors in their own way addresses the problem of communication of implicit and non-standard, weak signals and fleeting sensations, giving an opportunity to take a fresh look at the usual everyday phenomena and situations .

How to convey that which cannot be translated in words and images, that which escapes, hiding between lines and pixels, is a sense of the novelty of the world? Being a young artist means seeing that the reality around us is not just a collection of familiar things, images and behavioral stereotypes. Routineness is only an interface for meeting the unexpected, with the fact that it does not fit into the framework of the usual and predictable, with the fact that it declares itself as new.
