The exhibition brings together painters, sculptors and printmakers who through their art practices elevate our perception of maps from mere practical diagrams to objects of contemplation and fascination.
About
Maps allow us to understand the world around us, from the local to the vast global continents and great oceans, they help give us a sense of place. Throughout history man has travelled far to chart and record new territories, with ever fluctuating boundaries and borders. More than just a snapshot of a place, maps can reveal important social and political patterns and changes, not only giving insight about the physical space around us but more importantly, the people and communities that inhabit it.
Artists include Yanko Tihov, Ewan David Eason and Emma Levine.
