To coincide with our current exhibition Thinking Tantra we are pleased to announce a series of Yoga classes that will take place in the gallery, following different postures from diverse practices and meditations.
About
Yoga at Thinking Tantra is a charged yoga class taking place in the gallery, surrounded by historic and contemporary Tantric artworks in Drawing Room's current exhibition. Yoga instructor Gaia Persico will lead a 60 minuite class based on Hatha and Vinyasa techniques, tailored for both beginner and advanced practitioners through thoughtful modifications.
Persico has studied yoga philosophy with Dr Christopher Wallis, a Sanskrit and Saiva Tantra scholar who teaches Tantric meditation. Co-director of MA&Y, a yoga and martial arts centre in South West London, Persico is a British Wheel of Yoga and Yoga Alliance qualified teacher. Persico completed a two-year 390 hours Teacher Training Course at Triyoga under the guidance of Jeff Phenix, Susannah Hoffman and Carlos Pomeda. She attends anatomy, yoga asana and meditation workshops lead by Bo Forbes, Kate Walker, Tim Goulet and Mimi Kuo-Deemer.
The classes are open to all levels and suitable for all practitioners. Each class is 60 minutes (50 minutes yoga with 10 minutes optional meditation). The gallery is heated and mats will be provided, but please be aware there are no showers at Drawing Room. Booking is essential as places are limited.
