This spring Yemi Awosile will share a photo journal exploring the theme of seasonal disruption.
About
Using fashion and textiles as a starting point, she will record the process of producing a series of garments made from 12 component parts using raw materials found in the local vicinity of Hoxton Street Market.
Somewhere in Between opens on the spring equinox; Yemi will observe seasonal markers associated with the mutable rules of the Vernal Equinox and she will use this to inform her use of colour in reference to the light, smell and warmth of spring. Yemi’s process and ingredients will be recorded in the cabinet as well as online in a digital photo diary using #SomewhereInBetween on Instagram and Twitter.
The commission is accompanied by a series of free events running from April to June.
4 Seasons is a new outdoor commissioning programme which explores wildlife, biodiversity and artists’ interest in nature. The programme will be a seasonally changing display in the cabinet on the side wall of the Post Office next to PEER, and a series of events.
This programme is generously supported by Ernest Kleinwort Charitable Trust
