About
Dir. Alfonso Cuaron, with Diego Luna, Gael Garcia Bernal, Maribel Verdu Running Time: 105 minutes Mexico Language: Spanish with subtitles Certificate: 18
Y Tu Mama Tambien roughly translates as 'And your Mother too'; a boyish insult that is thrown about between teenage best friends, Tenoch and Julio. When they meet Luisa at a family wedding in Mexico City, fuelled by copious amounts of alcohol and Luisa's beauty, they ask her to join them on a road trip to a mythical remote beach called Boca Del Cielo 'Heaven's Mouth'. What follows is a sexually rowdy and wildly funny road movie that touches on politics and the philosophy of life, whilst playing as a metaphor for modern Mexico itself.
