Learn how to take and develop photographs using a large format camera with photographer Eddie Otchere.
Using 'Life and its Trivial Particulars' as a starting point, this workshop will examine the methodology behind studio photography. Bring your own objects to create a still life composition in Van Gogh House, taking your personal snapshot with a large format camera and developing your print in our garden studio.
Each focussed workshop caters for two participants.
We have been loaned a camera by 'The Intrepid Camera Company' who aim to make large format photography accessible to a much wider audience. They are now the biggest modern manufacturers of large format film cameras worldwide.
Eddie Otchere is a London-based curator, photographer and educator, whose work has been shown in several institutions (Institute of Contemporary Photography, New York; National Portrait Gallery, London; South Bank Centre, London) and appeared in several magazines such as Frieze, Dazed, among others. Best known for his portraits, documenting faces of popular DJs and rappers, such as Biggie Smalls, Old Dirty Bastard, Method Man, and Fat Boy Slim, Eddie has also explored idyllic landscapes whilst continuing to work on educational projects in schools.
