We are thrilled to start our 2016 program of exhibitions with our WORKS ON PAPER show. The show will present an array of artworks exploring the different possibilities in style and technique offered by paper. From drawings and watercolours to etchings and colourful prints. Each artist has a unique theme and method but they are united in their interest and passion to exploring the potential and creative possibilities offered by paper.

Andre Yaniw creates vibrant pieces and he hopes you can see that the elements he loves: colour, texture and drawing run through all the works, each piece surprises his as it takes shape and ends up having a distinct personality of its own. The running fox demanded a large red tail, the hipster asked him to show his soft side despite the muscles and tattoos and the squirrel needed to jump energetically through a bank of golden horse-chestnut leaves. Fred Kennett has gained inspiration from some of the places he has visited or lived in like the Falklands and South Georgia. His pieces represent old industrial buildings in decay, which really lend themselves to pen & ink with the different types of brickwork, steelwork and rubble. He also enjoys creating work that depicts imaginative fauna and flora, often in settings combined with such industrial dilapidation. Over the years he has developed his techniques and now thinks of his larger pieces as ‘paintings’. He has also concentrated on various series of nautical themed drawings.

We welcome you to join us at the opening of WORKS ON PAPER on Wednesday 6th January 6pm – 8:30pm at The Brick Lane Gallery.
