About

This exhibition offers a glimpse into the workings of the Royal Mail's Mail Centre at Sun Street Wolverhampton. Having worked there for Royal Mail for just over 30 years, Keith has an insider's perspective on the hive of activity which employs over a thousand people. Starting as a postman and working his way up to manager, Keith has seen many changes. With his photographs wanted to contrast the institutional, impersonal spaces with the more individual and social aspects of the centre. Keith wanted to show some of the unseen people who work for the Royal Mail. They are not the people who deliver the post, but they are just as important, because they make sure that when the mail is collected, it is sorted and despatched to its destination. They work in the Mailcentre in Wolverhampton, which collects and sorts mail for the North West Midlands area, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week — for the postcodes covered by ST, WV, WS and DY.
