Working with Cold Wax - INTRODUCTION with Nicki Heenan
17 Jun 2017 – 18 Jun 2017
Springfield Arts
Builth Wells, United Kingdom
10am - 4pm
£275
This course is for artists' who have had experience with working with Cold Wax medium and are looking to develop their work technically and aesthetically.
Once the basic tools and materials of working with cold wax are understood the next challenge is to apply this knowledge to your own work. Utilising the varied and sensitive effects of cold wax, we will work towards developing a series of paintings inspired by our beautiful surroundings. There will be demonstrations on advanced cold wax techniques such as formulating your own cold wax mediums, pouring and glazing as well as presentation and display of work. So as Matisse put it 'You study, you learn but you guard the original innocence’ - on this course you will bring the inner vision and passion for your art into fruition.
Cold Wax Medium and supports will be provided for this course. A materials list will be sent out on enrolment.
Nicki Heenan is an Art Educator/Artist who lives in Wiltshire. She appears in a new book on Cold Wax which is the first book ever to be written about this exciting technique.
You are welcome to meet on Friday evening for a briefing with canapés and drinks. The course starts on each morning at 10am, with a delicious home cooked meal at 12. An afternoon tea will be provided and the day finishes at 4pm, leaving the afternoon yours to continue your artwork or to explore the local activities (canoeing the Wye, beautiful walks, cycle routes and charming restaurants).
