Architect and sculptor Maria Primolan hails from Turin, Italy. After Art School, she graduated in Architecture and up until 2010 was mainly involved in furniture design, creating many a unique wooden piece. It was in 2011 that she returned to sculpture, carving figures out of wood with traditional tools and winning several public commissions and awards. 2016 saw her pay tribute to her hero David Bowie with stunning large scale wooden pieces, ceramic masks and busts. Lately she has been discovering the ancient art of Japanese Raku ceramic for the gorgeous and highly distinctive Bowie-inspired pieces featured in the exhibition.
