Yvonne Coomber creates compelling paintings which uniquely capture feelings of joy and love. A graduate of Brighton University, her reputation has spread far beyond the environs of her studio in the gentle rolling hills of Devon. The daughter of a farming father and a nature loving Irish mother, Yvonne's childhood in rural Ireland, her travels across the world and time living with a horse-drawn community in England inspired paintings that are now hanging around the world. She describes her work as ‘an offering to all the positive that is to be embraced in life… not a denial of life's challenges and difficulties (I lost my father and a close friend recently) but rather a stand for what is good'. 2013 has been a deeply transformative year for Yvonne's life and her work. This summer she married her husband and best friend Mike, a weekend-long celebration which has renewed her inspiration for work that overflows with rainbows of flowers and literally sparkles. She describes her work as ‘celebrating the beauty and joyfulness of life'. You will find Yvonne's work at all year around at Lyndhurst Gallery with a solo show running throughout December. The new body of work at Lyndhurst gallery is a visual testament to a very magical year.
