Drawing inspiration from the evocative season of winter, Wonder Winterland will feature new work from ten young artists at the forefront of the global new contemporary art movement.
About
Atomica Gallery is delighted to announce Wonder Winterland, a group exhibition from renowned international artist collective PRISMA, opening 11th December 2014 at the gallery’s brand new space in Soho, London. Drawing inspiration from the evocative season of winter, the exhibition will feature new work from ten young artists at the forefront of the global new contemporary art movement.
Founded by painter and curator Kaspian Shore in 2011, PRISMA is a group of international creatives working in a variety of mediums, with very distinct styles. Exuding brilliance, creativity and technical ability, the collective have already begun to captivate contemporary art lovers worldwide. Wonder Winterland will be their eighth international group exhibition and first London offering, a landmark event for both PRISMA and Atomica Gallery.
Wonder Winterland includes several of the most exciting artists to emerge from the current North American contemporary art scene including Casey Weldon, Chrystal Chan, Jeremy Hush and Zach Montoya. Canadian painter Jen Mann, whose much-anticipated solo exhibition “Q&A” opens in Toronto on 20th November, will also present one of her signature hyper-real portraits.
All using the chilling arctic equinox as a starting point from which to explore themes of their own choosing, other works include a fantastical acrylic wash portrait from German artist and PRISMA founder Kaspian Shore, a delicate pastel-toned digital painting from Taiwanese artist Hsiao-Ron Cheng and an elaborately detailed pen and pencil piece from Ukrainian folk artist Daria Hlazatova. Also showcasing new work are two of Britain’s most prominent pop-surrealist painters; Tom Bagshaw and Nom Kinnear King.
Wonder Winterland will be the first exhibition of original work at Atomica Gallery’s new location in the heart of Soho and their last exhibition of 2014. Showcasing beautiful winter-themed work from a group of exceptional young artists, the exhibition is a must-see for London audiences this holiday season.
“I founded PRISMA as a way to bring together a diverse group of people and watch them grow into a union, become friends, work together, and share our experiences with the art world. Within the past three years, we have done lots of shows together and are now excited to debut at Atomica Gallery in London, just in time for the festive season.”
