Panel Members
We are delighted to welcome:
Myah Jeffers, a Barbadian-British multi-disciplinary artist working across photography, film and theatre, exploring the notion of “truth” within Black diasporic experiences.
Myah's photographic work has won the Portrait of Britain Prize in both 2019 and 2021. She most recently photographed the ‘We. Black Women’ exhibition, commissioned by Donmar Warehouse.
Her portraits have been featured in a host of publications, including VOGUE, The Guardian, The Sunday Times Magazine, ELLE, The Independent, Aesthetica Magazine, It’s Nice That and British Journal of Photography.
Vanessa Maria, champions music & mental health as a DJ, is a Broadcaster at Foundation FM, and Host at Resident Advisor. Named as one of the most important young people in music, she made her mark on radio stations across the country sharing her love for underground UK music.
Renowned for her genre-spanning mixes and high energy 130bpm sets, you’ll need stamina to keep up. She’s been busy making appearances at Boiler Room, Dazed Magazine, Warehouse Project and HÖR in Berlin. As a former Mental Health Representative at Bristol University, she executively produced an award-winning documentary around black mental health. Vanessa’s work in and around music and mental health has also not gone unnoticed, from launching a radio show for Black Butter Records to interviewing the likes of Jaguar, Tiffany Calver and Juls.
Layla Conway, works as a Communities Manager for London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) and has witnessed nearly a decade of change across Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
A born-and-bred Hackney resident, Layla works with the park’s wide-ranging communities, making sure that young people’s voices are heard by creating opportunities for them to play a role in the Park’s future.
Antonia Odunlami, a founding member and former music editor at gal-dem. She has also worked as a producer across stations BBC Radio 1Xtra, BBC Sounds and Apple Music 1. She has moderated conversations at Black Girl Fest, BBC Introducing Festival and on Worldwide FM - along with her monthly show Diaspora Distins - where she showcases talent from the African continent and the global black diaspora. She is now a freelance podcast producer, DJ and music creative. Most recent credits include Unlocked With… on BBC Sounds and Nailing It on Spotify.
She has mentored emerging creatives for initiatives such as Create Job’s Meet a Mentor and is currently a judge for the Grand Plan Fund.
