From June 27th to July 9th Burgh House, Hampstead and Ecclestone Art Agency host ‘Women in Art’: a celebration and support project for women artists.

About

Incorporating The Holly Bush Emerging Woman Painter Prize 2017, Cass Art Runner-up Emerging Woman Painter Prize 2017, a workshop aimed at helping emerging artists further their careers and two weeks of exhibitions, this project focuses on supporting and encouraging the careers of emerging female painters. Sponsored by The Holly Bush, Hampstead, The Emerging Woman Painter Prize 2017 is aimed at women painters who wish to extend their artistic practice and develop their artistic careers beyond the studio.Women in Art (1) - 28th June to 2nd July in the Peggy Jay Gallery, Burgh House will exhibit the work of established female painters Laura Quinn HarrisMelissa Scott Miller, Isobel PeacheyTeri Anne Scoble, Sarah Spencer RAS NEAC, Leslie Watts and Jess de Zilva. Women in Art (2) 5th to 9th July will show work by emerging female artists who have been selected from a ‘call to artists’ details available on http://www.ecclestoneartagency.com/index.html  On Friday 30 June, a workshop will take place at Burgh House aimed at helping emerging artists further their careers. This event will be a series of talks followed by a networking event sponsored by The Holly Bush, Hampstead. A carefully selected group of speakers will be giving advice on such topics as using social media, pricing work, entering competitions, seeking bursaries, the function of galleries and support groups, in addition to the legal issues artists face such as copyright.
