About

Following funding cuts of 79% from Bristol City Council in August, seven of Bristol Housing Foundation's hostels are at imminent risk of closure that could leave 150 vulnerable adults back on the streets again. This photographic exhibition highlights their cause. Bristol Housing Foundation Residents Association (BHFRA) is urging people to sign their petition asking Bristol City Council to negotiate with them about their future. The decision by the Council to slash the funding hinged on a Council review which BFHRA strongly contests because it is factually incorrect, anecdotal, and based on a small sample of interviews. BFHRA have already presented their petition to the Council and Bristol s Mayor, George Ferguson — so far been ignored by the Mayor. After years of declining trends, 2010 marked the turning point when all forms of homelessness began to rise.
