WITH <3 TO PALESTINE appeals for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and freedom in Palestine, highlighting the commitment of the international artistic community by organizing a solidarity show on May 24 and 25, Friday and Saturday, during Lisbon's "art week".
The show presents a selection of about 40 artworks, out of more than 80 gathered in the WITH <3 TO PALESTINE collection, and will be on display at the architecture, research, and art space of the studio Frame Colectivo. The initiative aims to raise donations for humanitarian aid in exchange for artworks – drawings, paintings, photographs, sculptures, unique pieces and limited editions – offered by 68 Portuguese and foreign artists.
The artworks are priced between 50 and 1050 dollars (approximately between 47 and 977 euros), and the collective of artists and arts professionals responsible for the initiative invite collectors and all those who appreciate contemporary art to contribute.
During the two days of the show, visitors will be able to see live and take home their favourite artworks, many of which are priced lower than those on the market. Additionally, by making donations that go entirely to the Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA) NGO, they will be helping to mitigate the effects of the humanitarian crisis to which the children of Gaza and their families are being subjected.
The WITH <3 TO PALESTINE initiative was launched in February, currently involves 68 artists, and is estimated to gather more than 100 artworks. The collection can be followed on the website www.withlovetopalestine.art, which allows online donations and is regularly updated with new artwork and artist participation.
