Willie Nash: The Throne and the Theatre

About

For his second solo show in the UK, Willie Nash presents two bodies of work. The Throne is a series of 'chair portraits' that explores the symbolism of the throne as a place of divine right or knowledge as well as confirmed superiority. There is always a disquieting or unattainable aspect to what they represent, which is reflected in the irony of these portraits. The Theatre is a body of work consisting mainly of photographic narratives. It takes a theatrical look into a bizarre world where troubled characters cope with their surreal circumstances.
