A chance to try new ceramic techniques in a rural setting and to meet new artists and makers.
About
This is a day-long event which involves digging a pit for controlled ceramics firing with the chance to fire your new work outdoors and take it away at the end of the day. Led by Nita Nathwani, ceramacist and contemporary artist who has over a decade of experience working with clay, leading demonstrations and workshops.
Because pit-firing is a process that takes time and teamwork to set up, it lends itself perfectly to a community effort. It's a fun and unusual creative process that most makers don't get to try. The unique communal effort also brings together like-minded people and provides both a creative and social opportunity. Booking is required to attend.
- Clay and equipment provided.
- Food and refreshments provided.
Attendees may bring a small number of pre-made items from home to fire if they wish.
