OPENING THURSDAY AUGUST 22, 2024 at Denizen 18:00-22:00, Köpenicker Straße 40, 10179 Kreuzberg, Berlin. On exhibition through September 5th. Solo Exhibition- oil paintings. R. Drada presents the familiar vision of skies in a radical way: constraining the limitless blue sky against modern obstructions, the limitations of ordinary life. The origins of these skies are pulled from American culture, which has long sold visions of blue skies alongside American-branded freedom. The artist complicates these visions with contorted clouds, anxious lines and furious impasto, showing that the struggle towards freedom is rife with frustrations, themselves provoking extreme emotions.
