About

Heaven is more of a concept than a concrete thing, more of an appearance than an object. We cannot see it, hear it, smell it, taste it or even touch it. And yet we can effectively feel it.

The theme of the exhibition is a search for possible perspectives in looking "up" and from there down on our most limited existence. Up and down are in turn metaphors for an ideal or emotional attitude. We are less interested in artistic flights of fancy than in a deeper immersion into sensations. In concrete terms: an overview with prudence.

The exhibition is intended to work as a whole. What the works have in common is an expansive horizon along which appearances of the heavenly are understood as perspectives and moments are grasped in which we feel a more-than-usual connection to the "whole". It is less about flights of fancy than a deeper immersion into fields of tension. Sometimes this can really seem like a strike of lightning, a ray of sunshine, that gives hope.
