Curators and Artists Talk
Saturday, 23rd September 2017, 15:00 - 16:30
Curatorial duo Najlaa El-ageli and Toufik Douib will be in conversation with featured artists Sarroura Libre, Meryem Meg and Sarah Harfani - as well as with special guests, the ‘Crazy Souq’ collective. They will look into the relevance of the Pop Art movement to North Africa, exploring the concept of ‘Maghreb-isation’ and how the artists adapt the form to comment on their cultural heritage, local history, globalisation, consumerism and questioning the socio-political landscape.
