Beyond appearance. Beyond emotion. Beyond the everyday.
Thomas Stouf explores reality beyond the norm, through sculpture and form.
About
Thomas Stouf aims to create 3 dimensional pieces using simple forms, in which he believes we can all find familiarity. Stouf’s works are a composition of three key elements; shape, emotion and material. They represent a parallel reality which filters out our inherited behaviour and rules of nature, and leaves only the primal. Reversed pyramids, and abstract human forms lets the viewer ask themselves, how and why they continue to recognise what they know as Thomas transposes the quality of being onto raw concrete, bamboo, and perspex sculptures.
“You feel free to do whatever you want to do,”said Thomas Stouf about Berlin. His show is a culmination, as much of his artistic progress, as of his response to the city.
Thomas Stouf is a Paris-based artist who works with sculpture and architectural form. As a self-taught individual who recently dedicated himself to art, Stouf has been experimenting with material, moving from clay to concrete. He now combines the industrial with the natural in a variety of organic and non-organic forms.
