How we receive and spread information is changing. Log in, share the picture, retweet the link, download the app. This influences another to do the same. Mirrored images, data, uploads. Empty content. The Internet resembles a void, made up of information which merely reflects that which came before.
About
Is this urge to share organic, or purely circulation? Where does the power of influence lie?
Information is propelled into the countless channels of the Internet. Websites fall out of favour, become defunct, lose credibility. What use does this information then have, except to occupy space?
As part of Deptford X Festival, Rose Cleary will be exhibiting a new spoken word performance. For "WHAT IS THE VOID?", Cleary explores the definition of "the void", as defined by Yahoo Answers.
-------------------------------------------------------
The performance is a continuation of work developed as part of the *Dancing Girl Emoji* residency, for Delta Sorority/Backlit Nottingham.
Performance times:
30th September, 7pm-7:30pm
1st October, 1pm-1:30pm
Venue: Meeting Room 1, Deptford Lounge, 9 Giffin Square, SE8 4RJ London, United Kingdom
Admission is free. RSVP can be made to hello@rosecleary.com
