A collaborative exhibition by BA (Hons) Textiles, AUB staff and Alumni. This exhibition highlights the role of textiles within the design world and demonstrates the breath of practical processes used within the textiles industry today.
Quite often people are unaware of what exactly Textiles Design encompasses and the wide spectrum of disciplines that the term covers. This exhibition explores what Textiles Design is and its importance to the world around us; from fabrics to wallpapers, flooring to upholstery.
Featuring a variety of mediums and techniques used within the textiles discipline this exhibition includes examples of traditional hand embroidery placed beside the latest technologies being used today such as; CAD stitch, Laser cutting, UV printing and digital fabric printing. Also on display are examples of Textiles Design for garments, surface design for the fashion industry, soft furnishings, tiles, wallpaper and interior accessories, demonstrating the importance of Textiles to a wide spectrum of design.
