About
The proximity of his sculptures with everyday objects and their metaphorical quality subvert their purported origins.
For the Lower Level of the Belvedere21, Werner Feiersinger is planning an extensive sculptural intervention, taking cues not only from the exhibition space, designed by Adolf Krischanitz, but also from architectural details of the building created by Karl Schwanzer and its immediate proximity to the Fritz Wotruba Private Foundation. Feiersinger’s intervention projects an autonomous object quality and, at the same, time deals with fundamental questions of sculpture. Thus, the exhibition space will be reformulated and objects placed in dynamic relationship to each other. Feiersinger’s works undermine conventional modes of seeing and are infused with a deep irony.
