Join us for an evening screening and talk with artist and filmmaker Ayo Akingbade and member of Newsreel Collective Joy Chamberlain.

About

Sited at Shoreditch Library the evening will unfold with screenings of Ayo Akingbade's Street 66 (2018) and Newsreel Collective's Divide and Rule – Never! (1978) followed by a talk with the two makers. Created 40 years apart, their talk will reflect on their shared influences and inspiration, filmmaking then and now, crossovers in their work and how Divide and Rule – Never! wrongly or rightly, continues to be relevant; having influenced Akingbade's upcoming film, Dear Babylon.
