Weniger ist mehr - Less is more

About

This minimalist concept was formulated by the great German architect Mies van der Rohe who, at the beginning of the 20th century, was one of the protagonists of the European and American avant-garde movement, founder of a new aesthetic with clean constructions banishing all unnecessary ornamentation. The formula also applies to works of art that go to the basics or are content with the "little", as the little painting by Edouard Manet "Asparagus" which serves me leitmotiv for the exhibition.

Ce concept minimaliste a été formulé par le grand architecte d’origine allemande Mies van der Rohe qui, au début du XXe siècle, était un des protagonistes du courant avant-gardiste européen et américain fondateur d’une nouvelle esthétique avec des constructions épurées bannissant toutes ornementations inutiles. La formule s’applique également aux œuvres d’art qui vont à l’essentiel ou se contentent du « peu », comme le petit tableau d’Edouard Manet « l’Asperge » qui me sert de leitmotiv pour l’exposition.
