This autumn the Stanley Picker Gallery hosts the first major UK presentation of We Are Publication, an artists’ group which seeks and tests out innovative forms of contemporary art publishing.
About
Originating at Kingston School of Art’s Contemporary Art Research Centre in 2015 the group consists of a fluctuating number of current and past PhD candidates, staff members and invited contributors who are brought together by a shared sense of experimentation and the possibilities inherent in collaborative research.Following in 2020, Judy Price will present her current research on the recently decommissioned Holloway Women's Prison in collaboration with Dorich House Museum and Erika Tan will present her Stanley Picker Fellowship exhibition, staging a phantasmagorical assemblage that draws unlikely connections between the artist, her mother's life time body of artworks, artists Kim Lim, Georgette Chen and the ‘asian’ heads of Dora Gordine – alongside the Gallery location's history as a Coconut Mill. Throughout 2020, Stanley Picker Gallery will also present major works by Ben Kelly, Mike Nelson & Elizabeth Price at Town House, a new Kingston University Library building designed by Grafton Architects.
