About

Renowned Arts and Crafts Designer Ian Hamerton will talk about the life and work of William Arthur Smith Benson (1854-1924) who was one of the most important Arts and Crafts designers. Greatly influenced by Edward Burne-Jones, he was friendly with William Morris and Baillie Scott. Benson specialised in metalware with a focus on lighting. The Lightbox hosts a series of lunchtime and evening talks on a range of subjects. Advance booking required. Talks last for approximately 45 minutes with a short time for questions. Doors open 30 minutes before the start of the evening talks. Wine and juice are available to purchase at evening talks.
