About
Virginia Bianchi Gallery is pleased to present Warped Passages, an augmented reality exhibition hosted in the outdoor spaces of the DumBO area in via Casarini, Bologna. With the aim of bringing more attention to digital art and the practice of artists who use the virtual as an essential component of their works, Warped Passages proposes the virtual exploration of six works by the artists Martina Menegon, Lauren Moffatt, Rory Scott, Laura Shepherd, Alexis Zerafa and Alice Yuan Zhang.
The exhibition is an opportunity to get in touch with the digital artistic dimension, still too neglected by Italian cultural institutions: in Warped Passages, smartphones become interfaces for the use of works of art which, lost their sublime and precious qualities, acquire interactive characteristics and invite to active and individual exploration. Smartphones become, thus, doors to the parallel dimensions created by the artists; small windows that transport visitors to a different perception of reality.
The first in real life exhibition of VBG, Warped Passages develops within the regeneration spaces of the DumBO area: following the map shown here, you can find the panels with the QR codes and see the virtual works proposed.
