About
The orderly world of Karel, a successful lawyer, is irrevocably turned upside down when his extrovert, bohemian mother, Matilda—a former bar singer—loses her apartment and moves in with him. Driven by a sense of duty rather than love, Karel offers Matilda a safe harbour and care, with the help of his irresponsible, happy-go-lucky son, when it becomes clear that Matilda suffers from Alzheimer's disease. Inspired by real events and named after the famous Tom Waits song about dancing in the face of life’s obstacles, this tragicomedy blends hilarious humour arising from the coexistence of three different generations and temperaments, with touching moments as illness brings a fractured family closer together. Supported by a stellar cast, including Karel Roden and Regina Rázlová, this is not to be missed.
