A night of live music and noise

About

Limbo presents a night of music and noise in the anarchic Mayday spirit. Ampersand formed in 2001 in South London, taking influence from This Heat, Throbbing Gristle and Stockhausen. While they are interested in the sounds of 80's industrial experimentalists such as Einstürzende Neubauten, their approach is different; fully improvised and incorporating the serial ‘misuse' of various equipment and heavy machinery. Support comes from Mothax (London), whose industrial noise is created with modified and home-made instruments; Sky:Lark (Margate/London), local post-hardcore sandblasters recently expanded to a four-piece; and Tikoloshe (Canterbury). http://www.myspace.com/ampersandtv Mothax currently has no music online http://www.myspace.com/skylarkylark http://www.myspace.com/tikoloshe Tickets are only £3 on the door and there will be bottled beer on sale for cheap. Additionally, there are lots of other things happening in the area on the 30th and over the next few weeks (see below): Also in Margate: Turner Contemporary...hosts 'I never stopped loving you' - a new commission by notorious Margatonian and Brit-Art celebrity Tracy Emin. The commission takes the form of a neon sign which will be placed on Margate's iconic Droit House building, and will be accompanied by a show of Emin's work. Margate Harbour Arm...Is hosting a MAY DAY exhibition and Empty Shops Seminar. Crate...Hosts 'Lacuna' - an exhibition of new work by artist Tom Duggan exploring the tradition of artists who go missing. It's the last show in the 'Bad Translation programme. The Old Town Gallery... Sarah Stokes 26 March-2 May The Community Pharmacy Gallery...Children of Haiti: 30 April-2 May Ingoldsby Gallery...Portraits and a little bit more: 30 April — 31 May Marine Studios...Peeling Layers: 30 April-3 May Pie Factory Creative Spaces... Artist Studios: Open Studios & Upon Margate Beach: 30 April Coming Up In The Area: PRACTICE ROOMS host another of their excellent DIY hardcore shows on May 9 with Gods and Queens, Man Hands and (unnamed).
