The Samurai Museum Berlin is thrilled to present Waking Visions, a celebration of Surrealism’s centenary through the lens of four exceptional young female artists—Lucia Berlanga, Eliane Diur, Zohar Fraiman, and Yunyoung Kim. The exhibition explores themes of identity, the subconscious, and society through diverse mediums like ceramics, painting, and textiles, redefining the surrealist tradition for the 21st century.

This exhibition honors Surrealism's legacy, particularly the often-overlooked contributions of female surrealists, while championing a new generation of women artists. Visitors can experience the dreamlike worlds of these creators as they confront issues like gender, societal expectations, and cultural narratives in innovative ways.

Proceeds from artwork sales will support Werk9, a Berlin-based youth cultural center fostering creativity in young people.

The Samurai Museum Team is looking forward to welcoming you for an inspiring exhibition!
