Wrapper brings together four London-based artists working within the realm of sculpture. Incorporating previously exhibited pieces as well as work made or reconfigured specifically for the occasion, the show takes the constraints of the Platform space (as entrance, gallery, meeting place and thoroughfare) as its departure point — along with the overlaps and convergences between four individual practices. Arrangements or gestures towards obstruction and interruption invite a particular encounter with the space. Elsewhere, it is other spaces — proximate or distant, specified or invoked — that are posited for engagement. Within this arena, punctuation and tempo, and the recurring associations between surface, material and motif, all make themselves present.
