The Victoria Wang gallery launch their inaugural show, ‘VW ONE', at the fashionable Exhibitionist hotel, South Kensington on the 14th August.
The exhibition has been specially curated by gallery founder, Victoria Wang and features over 40 pieces of work. A provocative and eclectic collection, befitting of the quirky Exhibitionist hotel setting, the show includes oil painting, photography, sculpture and furniture.
The Victoria Wang Gallery is a new art firm, passionate about connecting art lovers and artists. Principally an online gallery, “VW ONE” marks the first in a series of pop-up exhibitions and events.
The show brings together some of the celebrated work of celebrity portrait photographer John Stoddart, including the show centre piece The Swan, with Leda (shown above). The show also profiles the allegorical oil paintings of Dani Humberstone, whom explores the narrative of the layers of memory using the symbolism of ripe fruit, and London-born Simon Shepherd's quirky sculptures - a series examining the distinction between the familiar and unfamiliar through the beauty and aesthetic of everyday objects.
Further pieces in the collection include thought-provoking oils from from former Sony Art Director John Clark, intriguing plantinotype photography from William Mark Ingram and, stunning 'digital decoupage' furniture pieces from Laura Oakes.
The first private view is being held on Friday 14th August, 7:00pm-10:00pm. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the guest list.
The show is open to the public from 15th August - 3rd September. All of the work is available for purchase.
