English figures of speech turn three dimensional in Vivien Phelan's wry and joyful ceramic sculptures at Skylark Galleries 1 on Gabriel's Wharf
About
Vivien Phelan is a ceramic artist who enjoys working on the potters wheel, then reshaping and distorting the uniform shapes. Often the work in its finished shape is a figure which is based on the English language. At other times it will turn out into an animal.
Vivien says "it is all about having fun and bringing a smile to the viewer." Using a high firing process for these sculptures gives them a distinctive finish and also makes them strong enough to withstand being displayed out of doors.
Vivien will be in our gallery on Gabriel's Wharf to welcome visitors Friday July 19th, Friday July 2nd and Sunday August 4th to welcome visitors to our friendly and accessible gallery.
