About

Viviane Sassen (b. 1972, Netherlands) is one of the leading figures working between contemporary art and fashion photography today. Producing innovative colour and black and white imagery, Sassen creates exuberant formalism in which figurative and abstract concerns remain in constant dialogue. Sassen has worked on major campaigns for Stella McCartney,Missoni,and on features for Purple,POPand Dazed & Confused. In 2007 she was awarded the Prix de Rome, in 2011 the ICP Infinity Award for Applied and Fashion Photography and in 2013 she exhibited at the Venice Biennale.
