By inviting the artist Vivian Suter, who lives and works in Guatemala, the collection of the Brücke-Museum enters into a direct dialogue with a contemporary position for the first time. In an expansive installation, Suter juxtaposes her free-hanging canvases with paintings and craft works by the ›Brücke‹ group of artists. She selected works from the estate of Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, some of which have never been shown before, for this presentation. A series of small-format collages by the artist Elisabeth Wild, Vivian Suter’s mother, will also be on view.
